RLC: Manually creating or updating reports for Release Control version 6.2 (PART 1: Regular Reports)

Description

When upgrading to Release Control 6.2 without promoting the new snapshots, you won't get the latest reports. If you want or need to use them, you must manually create them.

 

NOTE: You will also need to create or update the reports as described in KB S142124 (PART 2: Deployment Unit reports) and KB S142152 (PART 3: Deployment Log reports).

 

The reports are as follows:

  • Approval Rules
  • Environments for Group
  • Non Group Environments
  • Optional Environments
  • RLC Deployment Items Execution Log for Deployment Path

Resolution

To create or modify the reports:

  1. In the Release Control application group navigation area, click Reports.
  2. In the content area Search box, filter reports by entering a search string, such as Approval, Environments, or RLC.
  3. Use the following information to create or modify the reports as needed.

 

Approval Rules

  1. Create a listing report using the following settings:
    • Content, Report Item Type: RLC Approval Rules
    • Content, Select Columns to Display:
      • Title
      • Approval Type
      • All Release Types
      • Release Types
      • All Applications
      • Applications
      • All Environments
      • Environments
      • Approval Level
      • Allow Override Approvals
      • Level 1 Approvers
      • Level 2 Approvers
      • Level 3 Approvers
      • Level 4 Approvers
    • Search Filter: none
    • Sorting: Select Enable Dynamic Column Sorting
  2. Save the report as follows:
    • Title: Approval Rules
    • Privilege Category: Guest
    • Reference Name: none

Environments for Group

  1. Create a listing report using the following settings:
    • Content, Report Item Type: Environments
    • Content, Report Project: Environments Projects
    • Content, Select Columns to Display:
      • Item Id
      • Title
      • Deployment Approval Required, 175
      • Release Engineer
      • Release Manager
    • Search Filter: Select Include Items from Sub-projects
    • Search Filter, Use Basic Conditions:
      • Environment Group does not contain any Yes and
      • State contains any Online, Commission and
      • Accessibility contains any (Query At Runtime) and
      • Title contains (Query At Runtime)
    • Sorting: Select Always Perform a Primary Sort by Project and Enable Dynamic Column Sorting
    • Additional Options: Select Hide Project Titles
  2. Save the report as follows:
    • Title: Environments for Group
    • Privilege Category: Guest
    • Reference Name: none

Non Group Environments

  1. Create a listing report using the following settings:
    • Content, Report Item Type: Environments
    • Content, Report Project: Environments Projects
    • Content, Select Columns to Display:
      • Item Id
      • Title
      • State
      • Accessibility
      • Deployment Approval Required
      • Release Engineer
      • Release Manager
    • Search Filter: Select Include Items from Sub-projects
    • Search Filter, Use Basic Conditions:
      • Environment Group contains any No and
      • State does not contain any Decommissioned and
      • Title contains (Query At Runtime)
    • Sorting: Select Always Perform a Primary Sort by Project and Enable Dynamic Column Sorting
  2. Save the report as follows:
    • Title: Non Group Environments
    • Privilege Category: Guest
    • Reference Name: none

Optional Environments

  1. Create a listing report using the following settings:
    • Content, Report Item Type: Environments
    • Content, Report Project: Environments Projects
    • Content, Select Columns to Display:
      • Item Id
      • Title
    • Search Filter: Select Include Items from Sub-projects
    • Search Filter, Use Basic Conditions:
      • Item Id contains (Query At Runtime) and 
      • Item Id not contains (Query At Runtime)
    • Sorting: Select Always Perform a Primary Sort by Project and Enable Dynamic Column Sorting
  2. Save the report as follows:
    • Title: Optional Environments
    • Privilege Category: Guest
    • Reference Namenone

RLC Deployment Items Execution Log for Deployment Path

  1. Create a listing report using the following settings:
    • Content, Report Item Type: RLC DU Execution Log
    • Content, Select Columns to Display:
      • Deployment Unit
      • Configuration
      • Type
      • Release Package
      • Task
      • Task Execution Status
      • Start Time
      • End Time
    • Search Filter, Use Basic Conditions:
      • Task Collection Execution ID like (Query At Runtime) and
      • Group Id contains (Query At Runtime) and
      • Environment TTID like (Query At Runtime)
    • Sorting: Select Enable Dynamic Column Sorting
  2. Save the report as follows:
    • Title: RLC Deployment Items Execution Log for Deployment Path
    • Privilege Category: Guest
    • Reference Name: IesForDpExecution
