Description

Deployments are not working as expected.  The dmdeploysrv process is starting but the deployments are not completing.

The sdp DMDEPLOYSRV log files show a warning of:

deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Database[1] = {dmsys, <>, SERVERNAME, CM_TYPICAL@DIM14}
deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Warning: the above entry is incomplete, and the corresponding database will not be monitored.
deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Please check the corresponding data in DM_ROOT/dfs/deploy_config.dat.

Resolution

Enabling SDP logs in the Server's dm.cfg file will produce a SDP DMDEPLOYSRV log file.  See Knowledgebase Solution S142634  DimCM: Tracing: How to enable the most common set of logs, SDP, DBIO, and DFS, used in Dimensions CM for details on how to enable logging.

The sdp DMDEPLOYSRV log files show a warning of:

deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Database[1] = {dmsys, <>, SERVERNAME, CM_TYPICAL@DIM14}
deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Warning: the above entry is incomplete, and the corresponding database will not be monitored.
deploysrv: DDeployServerAppImpl::dumpConfig: Please check the corresponding data in DM_ROOT/dfs/deploy_config.dat.

The above warning is caused by the dmsys user not being 'registered' in the registry.dat file.  The password should show <*******> (masked) in the above entry.

Run the following command to register the user:

dmpasswd dmsys -add

Once the user has been added, stop and restart the various services/processes.

When the services/processes are restarted, the logs should now show that we are able to login.
