ChangeMan ZMF Client Pack 8.2 Patch 5

Unless stated otherwise in the relevant Product Supported Platform Matrix, all subsequent releases made Generally Available after 23rd December 2021 will also support z/OS 2.5 until IBM withdraw support for this release of the operating system.

Customers must be running one of these product releases to remain on a supported configuration. No other releases of these products will be certified for execution on z/OS 2.5.

If a Micro Focus product upgrade is required to maintain compatibility, we recommend that customers choose the latest available version and maintenance release that supports their chosen version of the operating system.

Resolution

As stated above, ChangeMan ZMF customers upgrading to z/OS 2.5 must be running 8.2 Patch 5 and also apply the hotfix for OCTCR46A157001.

PLEASE NOTE: This hotfix is compatible with ChangeMan ZMF 8.2 Patch 5 only. It should not be used on any other versions of the product. This fix is included in the 8.2 Patch 6 GA release.

To install the hotfix:

1. Download the file named 'ZMF8.2.5.031.zip' that is attached to this KB article.

2. Unzip the downloaded file.

3. The extracted file will generate a folder named 'ZMF8.2.5.031' that will contain files named 'README.txt' and 'H157001.LOD.BIN'.

4. Transfer 'H157001.LOD.BIN' as a binary file to your mainframe into a LRECL=80/RECFM=FB sequential dataset or member.

5. Issue a TSO RECEIVE on your mainframe against the uploaded dataset or member.

6. This will create a library containing the new component, CMNSRCPP.

7. Copy the new CMNSRCPP executable module to the appropriate product library for your environment using your standard change management process.
