Description

To troubleshoot certain problems, the support team may ask you to run the Version Manager desktop client GUI through the attached utility.

Resolution

To use the script:
     
  1. Extract the file VM_Debug.bat from the attached ZIP file and place it on your Desktop.
     
  2. Launch the VM desktop client GUI by double-clicking the VM_Debug.bat file.

    If you get a dialog similar to:



    click Run.

    If the utility does not launch at all, perform a right-click | Properties on VM_Debug.bat and look for an check-box labeled Unblock:



    If found, check the box and press OK. Then restart VM_Debug.bat.
     
  3. Perform the operation(s) that are causing the problem in the VM desktop client that was launched by the previous step.
     
  4. Exit the VM desktop client GUI.
     
  5. Wait for the PVCS VM Debug window / icon on the Windows taskbar to close.
     
  6. Submit a copy of the file VM_Debug.log that the utility saved to your Desktop.
