Error "RenewException: Exception occurred while getting namespace for xxxx user" during upgrade

SBM 11.8




During the database upgrade, the user is prompted for an SBM account.
If you enter a user/password that includes an ampersand or other special character, the upgrade will fail with error:

com.serena.renew.exception.RenewException: Exception occurred while getting namespace for XXXXX user.

Caused by: com.serena.core.runtime.LocalizedCoreException: Failed to obtain security token: Application Engine Web Services "https://SERVERNAME:443/gsoap/gsoap_ssl.dll?sbminternalservices72" returned an error: " Connection or outbound has closed"


As a workaround, use a login name / password that do not contain an ampersand.
