CMS-XML Mass Update for Create Subtask and Post Transition
(1) Create a subtask transition (as per the subtasks you wished to do a mass update for). (2) Create a regular transition from <any> to <same> with an unconditional transition action for transition in (1). (3) Select the items that you wish you want to do a mass update for and then select the transition in (2) which will via the action fire the subtask in (1) achieving the required result.
CMS-XML Parent item does not show that subtask is closed after subtask has been closed
However he encounters an error on the subtask page. He continues (i.e clicks "ok") and gets another window saying the subtask has been closed. But the parent item page is not updated , it still lists the subtasks as active.
CMS-XML How to copy several items from one project or solution to another via mass update
Transition Name: Export Transition Transition Type: Post Item From State: [Any]
CMS-XML Cancel during a "post" or "subtask" transition does not stop the transition on the parent item.
Update the workflow so the post transition starts and ends on the same state ("New" in this example). Also create a regular transition from the start state ("New") to the new state ("Waiting"). In the end, the workflow will look like this:
CMS-XML Subtasks created through a transition that was called from an action are created in the parent project
Workaround 2: submit your subtasks using a Mashup-Script instead Workaround 3: after submitting the subtask , run an automated Update transition (e.g. as a Post-Transition action after the submit transition) that updates the items Project field to the project it should be in. Fixed in Business Mashups 2008 R2.05 and 2009 R1.

There is also one special selection at the top of the list. "Same" is used to keep the state the same as it was before the transition was executed. This is useful when creating Update transitions or for Post Item transitions if you wish the original item to remain in the same state after a new item is posted to another project.
