The redundancy feature allows any ONE (1) of these systems to go down without affecting the ability to hand out license keys. However, a minimum of TWO (2) systems will need to be operational and able to communicate with each other for there to be a quorum . If there is only one system operational, there is no quorum, and without a quorum the license server on that system will pause until a quorum is once again reached.
Users of SLM 2.2.0 should only run the License Manager utility from the primary server. As always, changes made from the SLM UI need to be distributed by hand to the other systems in the quorum : Added a new license: serena.lic
Unlike regular single-server SLM keys, keys for a 3-server SLM quorum cannot be obtained from Serena's Entitlement web-portal. Please submit a support case to request keys generated in a 3-server quorum format.
