CMS-XML Endpoints using NTLM authentication cache the password when used with SBM Proxy
If you create an NTLM-authenticated REST endpoint and then decide to change the endpoint credentials, the original password is cached and the new password is ignored. For example, if you create a REST grid with an NTLM endpoint, and then change the password and redeploy, the SBM Proxy will still try to authenticate using the original password.

CMS-XML Making a call through the SBM Proxy using JavaScript how can I control whether the SSO Token is added to the request header or not?
When you do this you have to use the sbmproxy to avoid cross site scripting issues but depending on your needs you might not want the SSO token to be included in the header of the request you're going to. A good example where you might not want the SSO token included might be when making a rest call to another Serena product that uses SSO. You might want to supply your own username/password in the query string or just the existance of the SSO token in the header causes unforseen problems.

HTML Serena Business Manager 11.0 Security Bulletin
Summary For REST calls made from the browser, all communication is now handled between the SBM proxy and the Application Engine. The security of all authentication types now delegate responsibility for specifying the authentication information away from the browser and into the SBM Proxy. For example, before making the call to an external REST service, the SBM Proxy now uses the endpoint ID received from the browser to identify the mapped environment endpoint to be used, and looks up the authentication information on the server.
