Client Certificate Authentication adds intermediate certificate to the Windows Trusted Root store
After enabling and applying the Client Certificate Authentication, Configurator will add the intermediate certificate in the client certificate chain to the Windows > Certificates > Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. This prevents the use IIS to proxy all connections from working when IIS is set to require client certificates .

Configurator does not import IIS certificate chain
Choose the local computer Import intermediate certificates into the Intermediate Certificate Authorities\Certificates folder Import the root certificate into the Trusted Root Certificate Authorities\ Certificates folder.

Composer error - connection attempt failed. Could not connect to the Repository. Please check that the connection settings are correct. The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
This error usually happens when the client machine being used doesn't have the Tomcat/JBoss used by SBM in it's trusted root authorities certificates . If you use the sample certificate in configurator on your SBM server this will most likely happen.

Web Browser complains the SSL certificate has expired, even though the expiration date is in the future.
The certificate shown by the browsers is that of the server itself, but it validated the entire certificate chain. If the server certificate is valid, check the rest of the chain to ensure the root certificate , and any intermediate one(s), have not expired either.

How to install/import a certificate into Windows
Choose to place the certificate in "Trusted Root Certificate Authorities" store, and click Next. Review the details, and click Finish.
