Then, as long as the source Change Document type has not been used for any change documents, you can delete it from the product . If it has been used though it cannot be removed from the product and users need to be told to not use this non-conforming type. It is also possible to modify the life-cycle/attribute rules to not allow a change document of this type from beign entered into the system.

If you right click on a design part and select rename, only the name of the design part is displayed in edit mode. if you single left click on the design part, then entire product-design name-varient is displayed in edit mode (defect#1).
