It may sometimes be necessary to alter the port used by VM Server - forexample at sites where port 8081 or 8080 / 8007 are in use by some otherapplication. This is a relatively easy procedure, parameters need to be changed for both Web Server and VM Server
Tomcat uses two ports, by default these are 8080 and 8007. First you will need to find out if any or both of these ports are in use. To do so ensure that the VM Server application or service is not running and open a command line window.
Go to the file vm /common/tomcat/conf/server.xml and, for the failing connector(s), check the values specified for the parameters: keystorePass="Password
"Error while creating DaemonServer on port 50000: java.io.IOException: DaemonServer: not found" If you try to configure VM Server 6.8.10 or 7.5 in "Daemon mode" as per knowledgebase document #33303 (which outlines the procedure for VM Server 6.8), the Daemon Server may not start and you could find errors like the ones below in the Tomcat console window or the pvcsstart log file:
