Dim RM 11.2.2: Data Pump backups of RM project account fail when using Oracle 11 'Standard' Edition

For Standard Edition Oracle the deprecated EXP/IMP Legacy capability will need to be used until this is repaired in a future release or patch. For Enterprise Edition Oracle installations it works well.

Dimension RM Project Backup and Restore problems with Oracle 11

Starting with Oracle 11, Oracle deprecated the IMP/EXP functions used by the RM Legacy mode. With Oracle 11 and newer only the DataPump method is supported.

DimCM: Oracle: “EXP-00003: no storage definition found for segment(0, 0)” when exporting base database schema.
|
As a result these tables will not be included in the export file and, subsequently, will be missing from the schema after it's imported. The solution is to use EXPDP utility (datapump) instead to export the base database schema. EXPDP replaced EXP in Oracle 10g and newer versions; EXP has been deprecated , but it is still included with Oracle 10 and 11 versions.

Notifciation Error: No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: 101
|
This is a problem with a column type that Oracle only created in certain versions before it was deprecated . To fix the error with "No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: 101" you need to change data type for all columns with type BINARY_DOUBLE to FLOAT. To prevent this, before upgrading, columns of type of BINARY_DOUBLE-s (if they exist) have to be changed to FLOAT-s.

Oracle has deprecated the LONG RAW. We need to convert those columns to BLOB type (ODBC type of LONGVARBINARY) since we don't support the MS driver any more.

These Data Pump utilities do not suffer from the above limitation.
