An ODBC driver allows the querying of Dimensions data via a third party application. The ODBC driver supplied with Dimensions is an Oracle ODBC driver that relys on a functioning SQL* Net listener to function correctly (as do other components of Oracle 8.1.5 and above).

Dim10: Command Center ETL Job Logs Error "The network adapter could not establish the connection"
This could happen if the Dm.source.web_url_host,dm.source.host, and rm.source.host values in install_root_dir/common/tomcat/5.5/webapps/refresh-scheduler/WEB-INF/classes/oracle/ETLConfig.xml are set to a different host value from the host value in the Oracle install_root_dir/ NETWORK /ADMIN/tnsnames.ora file. To fix, make a backup of the ETLConfig.xml

Also verify the correct port number for the SQL* Net listener is in /etc/services well as the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora which are in the directory /var/opt/oracle (in /etc for non-Solaris UNIX platforms).
