When upgrading DVM, you may find that some groups and users are unassigned from projects after promoting snapshots.

Best practice is to assign privileges to roles, then assign roles to groups and add users to those groups. You can also chose to assign privileges directly to a group . But, individual users should NOT directly be granted a privilege, and individual users should NOT be directly assigned to a role.
CMS-XML Promotion of snapshot with project default value overrides for multi-group fields will remove all default values bar one.

CMS-XML Groups and Roles (in Business Mashups) need "View All Items" privlege to be populated in the Send E-Mail Dialog
In TeamTrack (for Groups ) and Business Mashups (for Groups and/or Roles ), the privilege needs to be set to "View All Items" in any Project where you want that Group or Role to appear in the Send E-Mail dialog box. The necessity to set this privlege comes from the fact that if you send an email to a user who does not have the privilege to view the item, then it would cause confusion on the part of the end user when they try to view the item.
CMS-XML How to delete a Promotion Group from an Archive that no longer exists in the Promotion Model?
An archive may have a Promotion Group that no longer exists in the model. The group may have been removed from the model before it was removed from all archives, or an old archive may have been imported into a project that does not have the group in the model. If the group does not exist in the model, you cannot delete it from the archive using the VM desktop client GUI and the VM I-Net web client.
