In the WorkCenter interface search users are allowed to select subprojects. While in the WorkSpace (standard/legacy) Search interface users are not allowed to select subprojects in the search interface.

There are many advantages to using Work Center over classic, but getting established users to adopt a new interface can be challenging. In a pinch, even well-intentioned users will fall back to the interface they know. At some point, you may want (or need) to focus the users into Work Center.
