CMS-XML Installing Composer (Client x64) give warning: "the installation of MS Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package (x64) appears to have failed."
The issue was the installer was looking for a specific version of the 2015 Visual C++ Redistributables and if it didn't have it, but had a newer version than the one the installer tried to install it would throw a warning/error to the user that the redistributable install had failed which under the hood made sense as it was trying to do an upgrade to an older version which should fail. This all has been fixed and the client installation of the 2015 redistributables should now work the same as suite.

CMS-XML Dim cm 14.4: When starting 14.4 desktop client, it fails with an error message indicating mfc140.dll is missing
Normally this file is included in Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable package. Indeed, the desktop client installer should have installed some Microsoft C++ runtime files, see screenshot below. When checking for Visual C++ redistributable, desktop client installer researches c:\windows\system32\mfc140.dll file and check it's version.
