Some customers are reporting poor performance in various functions (e.g. promotion processing) after upgrading to ZMF 7.1.3.01. Applying VSAM I/O optimization techniques (e.g. BLSR or SMB ) usually satisfactorily resolves the matter. However, a small number of customers that have already applied this optimization continue to encounter issues.
Possible workarounds: - Enable SMB 1 on both the SBM server and the file server (reboot after enabling). - Move file attachments to a server with SMB1 enabled.
File Server is an application that gives Version Manager access to archives and Project Database files. It replaces file level access through Windows shares ( SMB /CIFS) or NFS mounts that are otherwise required for desktop and command line clients. It supports a new archive type, the “Split Archive”, which can dramatically reduce the amount of data being sent across the network, thereby improving performance.
