PCLI CreateProjectDb returns message saying that "Admin" was unable to obtain a license.
|
The PCLI uses code that was created for the installation piece that creates the Sample project database, adding Admin as the SuperUser. If no user ID is passed during the PCLI CreateProjectDb command, it will try to use "Admin". If there is no license for that user, the creation of the new project database appears to succeed but it also throws the error, which is a red herring.

Invalid returned data from License Server -12 is received when trying to log into Dimensions. This error can occur when the incorrect Hostname and/or Host ID are referenced in the license file, serena.lic. To correct this, verify the Hostname and Host ID using the following command from the License Server directories:

KM-Dim7: How to obtain Machine ID for FLexLM license generation on NT server.

Machine id is required to generate all FlexLM licenses. Usually an NT machine id is obtained by running the command 'nbtstat -a <computername>' where <computername> is the name of the server in question. This would normally return the MAC address of the server but this may not work on some machines.

A license will be set for clean up once the user clicks the Exit link in the interface; in SBM 11.4, simply closing the web browser will act like clicking the Exit link in the UI. Clicking this link should return the user to a landing page. If clicking this link logs the user back in (because you are using Windows Authentication), then we need to change in setting in [1]
