Our R&D team performed extensive performance comparisons between Oracle and PostgreSQL following its own production environment migration to PostgreSQL . In summary the majority of operations performed at the same performance levels with some operations actually being faster on PostgreSQL and some being slightly slower: 1_ Operations including checkout, update, deploy, merge, create stream/project, creating a tip baseline all gave identical timings.

NOTE: If you are using Oracle 11g, please review the Appendix in the dmcm_admin.pdf guide that discusses oracle 11g Password and Schema Case sensitivity. The short version of all of this is that Dimensions CM will work best if case sensitivity is disabled.
