CMS-XML SBM - How to configure sbm to use google mail as a notification server and mail client
%program files%\Serena\SBM\Common\jboss405\server\default\work\jboss.web\localhost\notificationsrv\log\ns.log If you can't find it there do a search under the SBM folder for ns.log. Other things to check - make sure you have a valid email address for the user you are using and also make sure the notification rule is simple to begin with like in the attachment.

CMS-XML SBM 10.1.+: Notification emails have http links to items instead of https links
In 10.1 and above, the links inside notification emails are configured in SBM Configurator. Open the SBM Configurator. Switch to the Mail Services screen.
CMS-XML Does email approval from notifications introduced in 10.1.3 use an SBM license?
You configure the expiration time for the token in the Notification System Settings tab in the Notifications view of the Mail Servers tab in SBM Configurator. For details, refer to the SBM Installation and Configuration Guide. If the recipient attempts to respond after the expiration time has passed, he or she must enter login credentials to access the item and perform the transition.
CMS-XML SBM: How to control the order of the fields in a notification email using the $FIELDS() tag
For example, if the item is currently in the "New" state, check the order of the fields on the Field Privileges screen for the "New" state. If the "New" state already has other overrides configured , it will not pick up changes that were made at the workflow level. You will need to setup the field order for each state where other orderrides are already configured.
CMS-XML Registering and Configuring Plugins for Notification Channels
In SBM 10.1.2, you can create new notification channels in Application Administrator. Notification Channels enable you to send SBM notifications to your users through different messaging services in addition to standard e-mail . This means you can notify users not only through e-mail, but also through other means such as instant message (IM) like Google Talk, social networks like Twitter, or short message service (SMS).
CMS-XML Customizing Notification E-mail Templates for iPhone or iTouch
If any of your users access items using SBM Mobile on an iPhone or iTouch, you can configure the SBM e-mail notifications to include hyperlinks which will open SBM Mobile directly. This link makes it easier for iPhone users to access SBM, because they can use the enhanced SBM Mobile interface to interact with the item (instead of using the iPhone’s Web browser).
CMS-XML SBM 10.1: How to change the notification sender: Notifications are sent as being "from" the person who transitioned the item
The "from" user is configured in Configurator under Mail Services. Update the options in the "From and Reply-To Addresses" section.
CMS-XML SBM: XML Email Submit does not parse fields (ns.log gives "The incomming email is not XML, will process like text")
If you are having trouble with the setup for XML email submit, we recommend increasing the notification logging (Configurator > Mail Services > Notification Server tab > Scroll to the bottom > Logging Level) to Debug level. This will add additional information to the ns.log that will be helpful in troubleshooting.
