About Release Manager Database Locks
|
The Release Manager database tables are locked automatically during the database upgrade, and they are released after the upgrade is complete. The tables are unlocked if an exception occurs during the upgrade.

The CNCT_ws_dirs table is used whenever Dimensions needs to determine the list of all subdirectories under a given workset directory (in order to be able to get the list of files in the current directory and all of its subdirectories). This does occur in both of the above cases - when performing a recursive get and when opening a solution from VS. The CNCT_item_revision_history table is normally used when it is necessary to detemine the pedigree of an item revision.

When this problem happens, the user experience varies from not being able to save configuration changes to a server hang, all users being kicked out of the system, and not being allowed to log back in.
