Dim 12.x / 14.x : when trying to create a work or deploy area, got the error " ACL 4500285 E Failed to obtain address for "node name"; Name or service not known (-2)
When attempting to create a work area on an Agent through Admin Console, the following error occurs: ACL 4500285 E Error: Connect failed to <servername> (0) COR0005871E Error: Cannot open connection to host <servername>
For example after creating a node connection specifying the default network object of PCMS_SDP between a Unix server and a Windows agent and then trying to create a new work area on the agent fails with: ACL 4500285 E Error: PCMS_SDP/tcp, unknown service in TCP servicesfile and DM_SERVICES_FILE symbol is not defined The workaround is to create the network object using numbers instead.
