CMS-XML How to troubleshoot client side session timeout issues using the browsers console debug tools.
With the following setting set to true in your browser you should see activity in the console every 20 seconds until a logout occurs. This logging can show if the logout happened gracefully with the application cancelling the session as designed or there was some other factor involved. This document won't always tell you why a session has expired but more about whether it expired gracefully or not.

CMS-XML WD4ZMF - timeout occurs if plug-in session is idle for more than 30 minutes.
If the WD4ZMF plug-in session is idle for more than 30 minutes, such as while editing a component thru the WebSphere interface, the WD4ZMF session will seem to disconnect from the ZMF server on the mainframe. The session will also still show as connected if a USERS modify command is issued on the ZMF side.
CMS-XML DA 6.1: Is there a way to timeout long running DA sessions?
As of DA 6.1.3 the UI gets the counter information via websocket thus no 20-seconds REST calls are being made now. The session successfully times out in 30 minutes of user inactivity.

CMS-XML Are you seeing too many active sessions from your REST calls to DA?
An example could be RunAddStatusToVersion.groovy. Here we authenticate with username and password provided in the request, thus DA creates a new session every time that this request is made. This session will remain active until session timeout expires as indicated above.
CMS-XML VM I-Net: What does the login option "Automatically close all other sessions for your user ID on this server" do?
This allows you to login with a single (named) license if you forgot to log a session off on another PC, or if the IP address of your PC / laptop changed before you had a chance to log off (for example because you switched from a docking station to Wi-Fi, or switched to using a 3G/4G card, or simply because your DHCP lease expired and the network assigned you a different IP address.)
CMS-XML SBM Session Management unexpectedly kicked out, post transition errors
The server stores the user necessary data in memory; an iis reset or application pool reset will clear the related session memory. The server will respond to the client with true or false for whether the session is expired . If the server does not respond, the assumption is that it is down and the browser session should be ended.
