Simply copying the licenses from the old system, or not doing anything after a virtual machine is moved, will render the existing licenses invalid. Without valid licenses the SLM server cannot launch, and as result products trying to use this sever will throw errors like:
make sure your have rehosted your licenses key through Support website. (use the host ID which is displayed at the bottom of “Licensing” section in the License Manager.)
If you are using Dimensions 9.1.x and upgrade to 10.1.x and are “ rehosting ” to another mac address or machine, you will need to obtain new keys from our Support website accordingly.
When a license is first created for a new SLM server (Activate or Rehost ), the SLD site asks you to enter an SLM License Server HOSTID What value should be put there?
