When using the PVCS VM File Server prior to release 8.3, if Delta Generation (GENERATEDELTA) was turned on for a split archive after the archive had been created, it was possible for certain trunk revisions to become corrupted. (See KB article D9143 ).
Documentation or help indicates this on Archive Path: The name of the directory that stores previous versions of the checked-in files, or click the Browse button to select the directory by using the eChange Man Remote Directory Browser. Note: Use the Browse function to avoid typographical errors that can occur when entering the path manually.
The Version Manager (VM) File Server (FS) is designed to protect the assets under version control from accidental deletion. End users do not need to have direct access to the project data on the File System because of the FS.
