CMS-XML 8.2 Patch 4 COBOL XML fails with ‘SER6205E connection failed’
Customer testing 8.2 Patch 4 upgrade. Some of the customer’s COBOL XML code that worked in ZMF v7.13, now fails in ZMF 8.2 Patch 4. Support tested customer’s COBOL XML code in 8.2 Patch 3 and it works. In the COBOL code tested it reads in an application list, processes the first application in the list correctly then fails on the rest. Turning on XML trace in the COBOL code reveals the following errors for each application read after the first record:

Customers that wish to change variables passed to CMNDB2PL should use CMNEX101, i.e. the assembler version, and NOT CMNX2101, the COBOL version. The COBOL version is now obsolete and will be removed from the BASE ZMF libraries when ZMF 8.2 Patch 5 is made GA.
