CMS-XML DimCM: "PAM Authentication failed for user " error when configuring deployment area on Linux node
By default Dimensions uses 'dimensions_cm' PAM service, so the simplest option would be to copy an existing service file to 'dimensions_cm', for example: cp login dimensions_cm This will copy the 'login' PAM service to 'dimensions_cm" service and should allow Dimensions CM to authenticate successfully.
CMS-XML Dim12: Failed to connect to the Dimensions server. ACL4502922E Error: Cannot open connection to host HOSTNAME Logon failed for user dmsys and domain . (1326: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.)

CMS-XML Version Manager HOST login source does not work on Linux when the OS is configured to use winbind or SSSD
If y If your Linux system is configured to use winbind for user authentication, querying your Windows Active Directory Server for user credentials and group membership, or if it is configured to use the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD), the Version Manager HOST login source may fail to return a username. When this happens, users may get errors like:
CMS-XML Error "InitExtension Failure: An error occurred while publishing resources from database" when login
The problem lies with the permissions on a certain folder in the SBM installation directory, which is used to store temporary resource data. If the IIS IUSR (or other user used by your IIS installation ) can not create new subfolders in this directory, then the above error message will result. If you have internal authentication in SBM and IIS Directory Security is set to anonymous, the IUSR account normally writes these files.

Following the installation and correct configuration of Agile and SQL Server the following error was generated when attempting to connect to Agile Administrator: "Login Failed: Unable to connect to the database"
CMS-XML VM to Mover 1.0 migration. Moving to new server. Login failed errors.
Unable to get Mover 1.0 to authenticate user logins to VM (this is for the VM/DIM authentication install of Mover). The admin account works fine, but none of the other user accounts works.
CMS-XML Dimensions CM - SBM synchronization fails for some actions.
Per instructions in Dimensions CM Connect for Solutions Business Manager User’s Guide PDF, ...This user ID should also be reserved for the synchronization only. Do not use this User ID for any other activities, as this may result in synchronization failures.... Hence both connections must be configured with specific user IDs that are used for sync only, and no user will logon to either SBM or Dimensions CM with these IDs
CMS-XML How to setup Dimensions CM, RM and other Serena products to utilize the SBM SSO using LDAP authentication model
Once the user is authenticated via LDAP, a SAML token will be issued to the client for the user. If the user exists in the client requesting authentication, the user will be logged in , otherwise a login failure will occur. For example, if I go to the Dimensions CM website, I will be redirected to the SBM SSO Engine where my login can be authenticated via LDAP.
