Use a client that can access both the SOURCE project database and the DESTINATION project database. The SOURCE project database , or SOURCE PDB , will be the large one where the projects currently exist and the DESTINATION project databases , or DESTINATION PDBs , are where they will be copied to when the process is complete. Both project databases need to be open in the VM Desktop Client (GUI) for this process.
If you configure the PVCS Version Manager File Server as an NT Service, clients cannot see its PDBs . However, if you run File Server using the Start button in the Version Manager Application Server service, it works fine. Below are details of how you can set up the PVCS Version Manager File Server as an NT Service.
Open the VM Desktop GUI and open the Project DB in the original location Highlight the PDB and go to Edit-Copy in the menu Provide the name of the Project DB (this can be identical to the original PDB)
