A specifically identified scenario is where you have one process app with multiple applications which are dependent upon each other. This occurs because during the promotion process you are asked which application you want to promote in the case where you more than one application in a process app; it is only possible to promote one application at a time. If you do not promote the application to which you added fields first and instead promote the dependent application this error will occur.
