Be mindful that launching multiple processes may involve multiple user IDs. Desktop clients (e.g. VM GUI/CLI/PCLI/IDEs, SBM Configurator) normally run as the end-user, but Windows services like IIS/JBoss/ Tomcat typically run as Local System or optionally a designated user. To not lose data, the file needs to be writable by all user IDs involved.
