This is most likely caused by an existing Serena inventory file on the machine that's being installed to due to Dimensions having been installed prior to this installation. To get around this problem make a backup of the /var/opt/serena/inventory directory, delete it and attempt the installation again.

3.2 UNIX Note that the patch installer relies on information created by the main Dimensions installer, and this is stored in /var/opt/serena/ inventory . If the installation has been moved manually after installation then the patch installer may fail, and it will be necessary to re-install Dimensions from the Dimensions 10.1.0 DVD. if you require multiple Dimensions installations you should save the /var/opt/serena/inventory directory from each installation and restore it prior to each patch installation.
