This error is especially common if automatic item id generation is enabled for the item type(s). The problem is that the item id's are generated in sequence from A1 to A9999 (and much higher). Because of this, the new item id that will be used after the MIT command may already be in use by another item of that item type.

When user tried a number of operations on an item , like Edit Attributes or move to another project folder, it returns the following error : COR7700243E The specified item revision is not in the project [project id]
