You will need to configure the parameter - session -timeout described within the documentation. You will find this parameter in the $DM_ROOT/dfs/listener.dat file on the Dimensions server.

In addition the Pulse interface was working correctly. There were no configuration files in the %DM_ROOT%dfs folder containing DIM10 and the Pulse startup.properties file under ProgramData\Serena\Pulse\conf contained the correct database connection string of DIM14 for the JDBC url.

The workset directory cache is by default switched off in Dimensions 10, therefore the problem could not be reproduced in that version. There is a configuration flag to disable the caching called DM_DISABLE_DIR_CACHE. Once this flag is set in the dm.cfg file on the server with a value (as follows), the problem does not occur:
