The user who is running PPM (the application pool user) does not have permissions to read the doc store folder. Give this user full control to the entire doc store folder structure.
The About box is extremely difficult to read for Mariner customers. Customers cannot tell what version they are running. They could end up messing up their installs because they don't understand their current version number and may try to install something too old or too new for their current install.
