The Mariner release number is being passed to SBM as the "Product Version ". Therefore, with each release of Mariner, the version number changes and the Mashup Tool Event Map must be recreated. "Product Version" is not really a good name for this field.
Notice that the Event Name must match the Event Type in the Mashup Tool exactly. Newer versions of SBM Composer will need the Event Mapping to be recreated to match the following screen shots for changes in field values depending on which version of PPM you're using. Versions of Mariner prior to 2009 R1:
