The purpose of this filter is to decrease the download time of the java applet used when opening a task plan in PPM 2009 +. The increase in speed will be most noticeable on slower network connections as it's purpose is to compress the 1.5 mb java applet to a size of about 450 kb . The filter isn't necessary but can't increase performance during the initial loading of the task plan.
