New version of asset is created when updating metadata of type :"related to all versions of the asset".

It is possible to set up an Asset-Type's metadata not to create a new version of the asset when changing the metadata value, but under certain conditions this may not work. When this happens, any metadata value update causes a new version of each asset to be created. This seems to happen most often in Oracle and Sybase.

When all the conditions above are true, Collage incorrectly flags "Work Cabinet" assets for generation. When this happens, if there are multiple assets with the same name, such as "My Bookmarks", errors will be produced and the deploy will fail. Workaround : If all three criteria are required (not common), then the Deploy will complete if it is submitted with "Only Fatal Errors" set for the failure criteria.

MCLG: 4.6.0.5 Assets take longer to generate when deploy a folder verse deploying individual assets

In some situations , deploying a folder could take much longer than deploying the individual assets within the same folder. This was because Collage would runs its routine as if a changed asset deploy was taking place, even though it was a folder deploy. With this patch, if the deploy map is not using the "delete obsolete assets during deploy" option, Collage will skip this routine and allow the generation to complete faster.

In some situations , you may need an asset to be deployed every time any deploy takes pace, even if the asset has not been changed. An example of this might be an asset that uses the DBDeploy component to pull information from a database. The asset itself may not have changed, but you still want the file to be deployed so it can grab the most recent database records.
