(If this link does not work for any reason simply search for APAR OA48941 on the IBM Support website.) The following Serena Software mainframe products make use of these Unicode Services and will also be affected by this issue once host systems are IPL’d on or after December 15th 2015: - the ChangeMan ZMF Client Pack, including both the ChangeMan ZDD and ChangeMan ZMF for Eclipse (ZMF4ECL) products.
Customer has baseline and other datasets defined with UACC(NONE) and have allowed the ZMF started task USERID to have update access. This allows users to be able to checkout and edit members within the ISPF and ZDD clients. Since ZMF4ECL uses XML Services to communicate with and transfer data to and from the client, access to the dataset is restricted and attempts to access data fails with 'AAA.BB.CCCC.DDDD' is a protected data set" messages.
A customer has been experiencing several production problems where requests executed in their multithreaded, ZMF web services application are failing with the following error: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 1; Premature end of file. No errors can be seen in the usual log files related to this error and rerunning the same services invariably runs successfully.
Users cannot connect to ZMF from the ZMF4ECL plug-in, because Web Services rejects the ENVIRONMENT LIST response because XJRJESTYPE is D in their environment. The Web Services definition only permits '2' or '3'. Any Character should be permitted in this field
These are available for download by any customer entitled to ZMF. The challenge here is that these web services cannot be used asis. They must be implemented within a programming language to manage session state.
