Currently we appear to support these variables in Client Pack for audit but not in other functions. Looking at the XML Services User’s Guide it appears that these variables can be passed to the following functions:
CMS-XML Update participating package list only updates complex package information
ZMF4ECL 7.1.2.01 does not appear to be executing step 2. above. Failure to do so may result in various errors. For example, any attempt to audit the participating package will fail with a RC=20 and the following error:

The same issue also applies to the ZDDOPTS DEMOTE and AUDIT members, too.
