In the latter case, there’s a quite complicated set of events that must occur in exactly the right sequence and in some cases at the customer site that sequence went wrong. The cause was in believing that the TRMEXIT dispatched out of ASCRE would be dispatched before the STC dropped into ASB tidyup after having been woken up by cross-memory POST from the SERDRT instance. When these two events are dispatched in the wrong sequence the ASB won’t be returned to the free pool and eventually that pool will become exhausted.
