No root user for Unix System Services OS/390
eChange Man Communication Agent is required to run as root user this user does not exist for OS/390.

We added quotes to the image path as described in the article. After that the VCS NT Service was able to start.

We are running the communication agent (CMDS 5.4) on a Windows NT server. We have created a service account, ecmserve, for the agent and configured the start up for the VCS NT Service to use that account.

There is no documentation for upgrading license key
Windows 2000/NT Stop the "VCS Server" service in the <Control Panel> (NT), <Administrative Tools>< Services > (2000). Using the Windows NT Explorer, find the CMNDS installation path "Server" subdirectory.

But it continues to give the same error. Checking the 'Event Viewer' says the same error. No other information

Web connection no areas displayed
The problem can be solved by stopping and then restarting the VCS Server service . Once contact is reestablished, eCM should update itself.

No upgrade instructions for clients and Communication Agents
1. Stop the service . Refer to the "Communication Agents" chapter of the Installation Guide for information on stopping Communication Agents on different platforms.
