When editing an area in the Java/Web client, the area configuration screen always shows the preference as 'None' even if it is set to 'Same' within the DS Client. If clicking OK or Apply and preference is not changed from 'None', the preference type will be set to this new value. Re-editing the area in the Java/Web client will still indicate the Preference type of 'None'.
Instead of passing a <NULL> value, it is leaving the password blank and a login will fail. You could just set this value to <NULL> in the database, but the problem is that when any administrative function is done a userID even if no changes are saved, the space instead of <NULL> gets updated again. Therefore, this trigger looks for a blank in the 1st column of the password and if it see a blank, it will insert a <NULL> in its place.
5. Then log into ALM again using the CHCAdmin/serena and reset the password back to the original one 6. The DS Win 32 client and Web client passwords are in sync and they will be able to log in.
The problem only occurs with a large number of files in the package (3500+ files). However, this also appears to occur with 750 files that have a large relative path setting as well.
Need to add Serena Web client to trusted content when the security message comes up. Also, add Microsoft VM to existing IE. This can be done by running Setup from the installation media.
