Using Java Plug-in 1.6.0 Update 10 (1.6.0_10) or newer with Version Manager releases prior to VM 8.2 can corrupt your project database
P2470 , or upgrade to VM 8.2 or newer. Users of older VM releases should cease using all versions of the Java 1.6 Plug-in to avoid (further) database corruption, and upgrade their Version Manager release to VM 8 .2 as soon as possible.

VM I-Net no longer works following the release of Java 7 Update 51 (on January 14th 2014) if an older version of the Java plug-in is installed
Installing the newer JRE may not be an option, as it might not be compatible with the Version Manager release you are running. For example, Java 7 Update 51 will not run with VM 8 .4.x.

VM I-Net: Is the Version Manager Web Client compatible with Java 7?
Customers running Version Manager releases prior to 8 .4.5 should upgrade to 8 .4.6. There is no workaround to make the Web Client work with Java 7 on older VM releases.

Version Manager HotFix for 8.2.0.1 - Fix for expired web client certificate
Following the installation of this HotFix, end-users wanting to receive the updated certificate should clear their Java Applet cache from the Java Control Panel. (On Windows you can bring up the Java Control panel by going to Start | (Settings |) Control Panel | Java.) Once launched, go to the General tab, click the "Settings" button in the "Temporary Internet Files" box, then click the "Delete Files" button and ensure that in the "Delete the following temporary files?"

VM 8.4.4: When trying to use the VM I-Net web client with Java 7, the browser freezes when there is a callback dialog (e.g. during Check Out or Check In)
Use of Java 7 on the end-user's PCs is formally support when using this combination. Note that as of VM 8.4.6, use of the HotFix will no longer be required. On the PCs of the affect users, uninstall Java 7 and install the latest version of Java 6 instead.

VM 8.4.5: HotFix for I-Net web clients reporting missing JRE when Java 7 Update 4 or newer is installed
then the problem exists solely between your browser and the installed JRE. To test this, go to Oracle's Verify Java Version link and check if it can launch your JRE . If that too does not work, either upgrade or reinstall your JRE.
