CMS-XML KM-Dim9: Is there a way to include empty workset directories in a baseline, release or get (recursive)?
However, you can create a marker file/item that is included in the directory that would otherwise be empty, like a virtual file. This way the directory is included during the get/baseline/release action.
CMS-XML KM-Dim10: Can we delete an item already included in a baseline?
c. A baseline that has been actioned can be deleted only by a user with the appropriate management privliges. d. A baseline can not be deleted if it has been used to make a release or archive . OR
CMS-XML DMCM 2009R2: Is it possible to change an existing Design Baseline with no template to a Release Baseline?
This is not possible, as even if a template is linked to a baseline within the database, a design baseline will includes all revisions of all items at the time the baseline was originally taken. This would result in an invalid baseline.
CMS-XML KM-Dim10: How to create a Release Baseline instead of a Design Type BL
Summary from the Dimensions User's Guide: A design baseline represents the current product design structure, or a selected part of it, within the scope of the current workset or design part, including all the revisions for each item. A design baseline does not use a baseline template.
CMS-XML KM-Dim9: User needs to do this because his binaries are of a type that has Item Header Substituion enabled. Hence an extract, release baseline corrupts his binary files.
Create a new item type in Adminconsole, ensure that Item Header Substituion is not switched on for this type. Fetch the existing binaries and data migrate them back into Dimensions using the new type defined. Create a revised baseline to include the new items, and exclude the old binaries.
CMS-XML KM-Dim9: When attempting to perform a release baseline from PC Client the resulting error: 'Create Release - Error: Delete failed for pcms263_1.tmp' can be caused by a white space character preceding the id.
As you can see the entry in baseline history is one character longer than the entry in bln_spec_catalogue. The customer should run DBL 'ECS: BUILD 5' (note preceding white space chacter is included ) and baseline should be deleted.
CMS-XML MVR In Mover, if you setup a dimensions source, and go to the 'deploy files' tab, and pick a baseline. It will allow you to pick the baseline, but upon hitting ok, nothing happens.
6. Review the remaining sections of the readme.txt for additional information on the defects and enhancements included with this release .
CMS-XML Dim12: Suspended item cannot be moved
As stated in the documentation: "You cannot modify a suspended revision or include it in a baseline or release , but you can create new revisions from it." This includes any refactoring, which does an update of the item revision.
CMS-XML MVR 2.2: Increased SFTP support, Dimensions deploy improvements, Password encryption for Deploy Agent, Mozilla timeout fix
In previous releases , when deploying files from a Dimensions baseline , you had to deploy all files included in a baseline . Now you can choose specific files and folders to deploy from the baseline.
MS-WORD Dimensions for ChangeMan DS Users
In addition, Dimensions also allows you to create releases, which are typically associated with files that will be delivered to a customer. Releases are created from baselines , and also make use of templates created by the administrator to filter the files to be included . The filters are based on item types, which would allow you, for example, to release executables and documentation files, but not source code.
