When opening a versioned document with Word for example from the "My Meritage" directory it only opens a "Read Only" version (not checking it out of VM) and doesn't allow changes or saves. The file cannot be checked in either.

MS Word files need to be set to a class of Binary. Once done, any new items added will display properly. Items which were added with the incorrect class will need to be re-added/uploaded into Dimensions.
There are two known causes for this problem. Word has “Alternative User Input” enabled or Word has a file referenced in the “Recently used list” that is not on the local machine.
