Redundant License Server Setup Instructions
|
This document details the steps for setting up a Redundant License Server environment. This is intended for customers that are running TeamTrack Release 6.3 and Above.

From my test you can modify where to point to different license server by modifying "<Build INSTALL PATH>\Merant\Build\tomcat\webapps\ROOT\openmake\license\license.ini" UPDATE:

SLM: How do I activate my license for, or move (rehost) my existing license keys to a new license server?

Please see the following video demonstration for instructions on how to rehost your licenses to the new server: This video also show how to generate a license for a newly obtained license, using Activate instead of Rehost.

still needs to list it as one of the values that gets returned, but it is OK for this HostID to not be the first one in that list. Instructions on removing the bad key can be found in Knowledge Base article S133890 .

Unlike a regular license key, the key provided in this email cannot be pasted into your Serena License Manager. To install the key, please use the following instructions :

PVCS Version Manager returns message that it could not connect to the specified license server, or that the license has expired
|
If no client workstations are able to successfully check out a license and the message persists, it's possible that the server is not running properly and troubleshooting help will be needed from Serena Support. On the Knowledgebase there is an article at S128639 that has 2 scripts attached, one for UNIX/Linux and one for Windows, and instructions on how to run the scripts. Follow the directions, zip or tar up the resulting output and send it to Microfocus Support for analysis (create a new case if you don't have one already).

Serena Software recommends that you install the Serena License Manager before upgrading TeamTrack. The Serena License Manager software is included with your TeamTrack software. Instructions for installing and using the Serena License Manager are provided in the Serena TeamTrack Getting Started Guide .

KM-Dim10: Eval install provides an error of '...Feature has expired (-10,234)...'
|
Once the key is generated, you will need to cut/paste it into the Serena License Manager utility as described in the Licensing Quick Start Guide , dm_licensing_quick_start.pdf, Step 4, Pages 6 - 7. This will also shutdown and restart your License Server to re-read the newly acquired license.
