CMS-XML PassTicket generation problems – a guide to self-diagnosis in a RACF environment

CMS-XML ZMF 8.1 Passticket validation for protected userids
1. The primary userid, SERE in this example, MUST be authorized to impersonate userids for this ZMF subsystem. This can be achieved by adding the userid to the ACF2BAT table in SERLCSEC or by granting READ access to the SAFCLASS/SAFRSRCE profile specified in the same module (default FACILITY/SERENA. SERNET .AUTHUSR), if it was not already. Further information can be found here:

CMS-XML Invalid SER8207E message after upgrade from 7.1.3.03 to 8.1.2 caused by incorrect version of SERLCSEC
This was quickly confirmed and when we researched their set-up everything initially looked fine. The PTKTDATA class had been enabled, the SERNET profile was correctly set-up within it, all RACF refreshes had been executed and traces showed that the PassTicket was being generated in the correct manner. It was simply the verification of the PassTicket that was failing on the started task side of the connection.
CMS-XML Message SER0868I
The SER0868I message is an extra SERNET diagnostic "informational" message. It contains REGION information to detect storage creeps. It is generated once per hour.
CMS-XML Failures communicating with ZMF 8.1.2 Servers using older ZMF4ECL clients
“You must upgrade your ZMF for Eclipse client to version 8.1.2 before you can use it with a ChangeMan ZMF 8.1.2 or Sernet Server 8.1.2 started task.”
CMS-XML IGD01001I DATA SET ALLOCATION REQUEST FAILED - ACS STORCLAS ROUTINE RETURN CODE 8 REASON CODE 31
"local session disconnected from Sernet " The ZMF started task log revealed the following allocation errors:
CMS-XML RLC: Clicking on a ZMF change package prompts for a login, but my password always fails
Although the title of the login prompt looks like it is coming from the SBM server, you actually need to enter your ZMF username and password. This user will make a SERNET connection to ZMF and return a short report with details about the change package.
CMS-XML Change to default storage protection processing (SER0611I)
This processing can be explicitly switched on or off using an undocumented Sernet parameter keyword. Customers need only change the behaviour if explicitly asked to do so by their Micro Focus Support team in response to specific issues that may arise.
