Data Source: This is case sensitive and must match the name of the connection on the Agile login screen. Location: This is the Agile Server name and Virtual directory name. Note: for Agile on Demand the location will be agile.serena.com/agile
This might be helpful in troubleshooting setting up connections using the Agile Administration tool or when you're generally not able to connect with the Agile Administration tool to create a connection .
Creating a connection to an existing database gives this error: Could not add database connection.; Could not add database connection.; System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Could not add database connection.
The problem was traced to the Windows Firewall. Once this was disabled (the company concerned had another firewall in use) the connection could be made with no further problems.
Fatal WebException occurred with status: ConnectFailure.; Unable to connect to the remote server; No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
Exception Message: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. System Message: at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HttpWebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request)
Upgrade Steps: Launch the Agile Administration tool, and note the information for each of the connections listed on the login screen. Because Agile 2009 only supports SQL Server 2005 and Agile 2010 only supports SQL Server 2008, perform these database steps:
Locate the web.config file and make a copy of it outside of the C:\Program Files\Serena\Agile folder (This step is precautionary if you need to re-add any customizations later.) Launch the Agile Administration tool, and note the information for each of the connections listed on the login screen. Uninstall the existing version of Agile.
